Steps to Produce Your Book

Every step in producing the very best book requires lots of attention to detail and an artistic eye.

EDITING – You want your work to be taken seriously. By having your book carefully edited you will avoid grammatical errors, poor spelling and bad sentence structure. With the “fresh eyes” of an editor, there will be a smooth flow of ideas from you to your readers.

COVER DESIGN – Your book may never be opened if the cover isn’t compelling enough to grab the readers’ immediate attention. A graphic designer is responsible for the front, rear and spine of the book cover. Included in the design are critical elements such as the ISBN, bar code and author’s biography. The cover design must be sure to hook your reader’s interest and convey the theme and content of the book within seconds.

LAYOUT DESIGN – A book designer will layout the book’s interior with the author’s content in mind. Necessary to this end, pagination, title page, copyright, chapter headings, font, spacing, index and many additional details result in a proper book.

PRINTING – A book is a physical object and a joy to hold when design and materials are joined intelligently. A designer will work with the author and printer to insure the book is produced with craft and precision.

PROMOTION – Your book deserves a great launch. When boxes of your book arrive the author and publisher’s work will begin anew.
